Boosting oyster production and fisherfolk’s income with bamboo raft technology /
Rita dela Cruz.
Oyster culture is one of the sources of livelihood of the coastal communities in Pangasinan. A critical aspect to the success of growing oysters is the collection of “spat” (seed) because it provides the foundational stock for oyster farms. It influences genetic diversity, allows for control over growth conditions, and ensures uniformity in size and age, all of which contribute to the success and sustainability of oyster farming operations.
