To contribute to the Department of Agriculture’s program of ensuring food security in the time of COVID19, a total of 70,000 bangus or milkfish (Chanos chanos) fry were stocked and distributed by the National Fisheries Research and Development Institute – Marine Fisheries Research and Development Center (NFRDI-MFRDC) in Eastern Samar last May. Of the 70,000 bangus fry, 40,000 were stocked in a concrete pond of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources – Guiuan Marine Fisheries Development Center (BFAR-GMFDC) in Guiuan, Eastern Samar to be grown to fingerling size. The remaining 30,000 fry were given to Mr. Ramon Mengullo, a private beneficiary in San Policarpio, Eastern Samar.
