Subject(s): In: Philippines. FGD for fish processing plant rehabilitation in Bicol conducted Volume 3, Issue no. 2 (April - June 2021), page 5Abstract: A focus group discussion was conducted to rehabilitate and strengthen the BFAR RFO V Fish Processing Plant (FPP) last June 23, 2021, at the BFAR RFFC Compound, Bula, Camarines Sur. Matters related to establishing the FPP system, policy, and operation to function as a common service facility engaged in toll packing or manufacturing of canned sardines and other value-added products were discussed. This activity targets to increase the number of vibrant, dynamic, and globally competitive fishery-based MSMEs through catering business start-ups among capital deficient entrepreneurs and marginal fisherfolk cooperatives and associations. Once in place, the facility will help increase food production, generate employment, and propel socio-economic and inclusive growth in FMA 7.
