To assess the potential invasiveness of introduced species in three important lakes in the Philippines, namely, Buhi, Mainit, and Naujan, the Department of Agriculture - National Fisheries Research and Development Institute (DA-NFRDI) conducted a series of workshops. The activity is part of the NFRDI research project, “Risk Assessment of Introduced Fishes in the Philippines,” aimed to screen nonnative fish species for invasiveness, to evaluate and interpret the categorization of the non-native species, and to recommend management strategies and control measures for non-native fishes and conservation measures for native species.
