Presidential Proclamation Nos. 224 and 227 series of 1988 declares “the first week of March each year as Women’s Week and March 8 as Women’s Rights and International Peace Day” and “observance of the Month of March as Women’s Role in History Month”. Additionally, Republic Act 6949 series of 1990 declares “the month of March as National Women’s Month”. This year’s theme “Juana Laban sa Pandemya: Kaya!” pays tribute to the challenges and opportunities faced by many Juanas during Pandemic and highlights women’s participation in battling the pandemic as well as discusses gender issues exacerbated by the pandemic. |
